Boarding a flight from PDX to SJC, I sat in the window seat, waiting for the plane to fill. A man buckled in and settled into the aisle seat and then I realized- I was missing something important. I felt terrible, but asked the man to let me get by. I opened the overhead compartment, unzipped my backpack, and grabbed one little green thing. I closed everything up, swung back into my row, and felt relieved. What the man thought, I’ll never know. What I grabbed was Failte.

On Monday, I went to A Work of Heart art studio to a class called Stenciled, Stamped & Screen Printed. Andrea Chebelou, who runs the studio, was my teacher. With her help, I made a Propaganda Panda block stamp, and a radish screen for screen printing. (I also made a skull and cross bones stencil, but my cutting-out skills are awful, and he ended up missing a nasal cavity.)

February 23, 20101. March 3rd, 2009: A mysterious package arrived in my kitchen, turns out it was a carrier for EPIC PANDA also known as SUPERLATIVE PANDA!!
2. May 9th, 2009: I went to China. I held a panda. You didn’t. Deal with it.
3. July 25th, 2009: Marble gave me a panda necklace for my birthday. It has heart feet like Propaganda Panda does.
4. August 5th: Yun Zi born at San Diego Zoo. Thus creating endless pandacam footage I would not shut up about.
5. September 6th, 2009: I bought a ridiculous panda hat/scarf/gloves combo at PAX, a birthday present from Ty. As long as I don’t look in a mirror, I’m happy. I love everything about it.
5. December 25th, 2009: Ty visited San Diego and brought back 2 panda souvenirs for me. One, a child’s panda face mask, and the second a framed picture of EPIC PANDA in the wild, before he came to stay with me. Both from the zoo, both fantastic.

January 2, 2010Things are not so bad. It’s odd, actually. I make plans in my head all the time, and when I was home for graduation parties my brother said he does the same, and even if its for small stupid things it ruins my day when it doesn’t happen. Right before I graduated I said that it was the end of the world, the photo album of the last week of school was ‘end of my life,’ and I meant it. [and then suddenly…]
